Youth
Youth
Youth is not a time of years,
It is a flame behind your eyes.
Soft as the first spring breeze,
Bold as unclouded skies.
It walks with restless heartbeat,
Chasing dreams beyond the shore;
It bears small wounds and secret hopes,
And fears to ask, yet dares to soar.
It laughs without a heavy reason,
Cries when the sunset fades away;
It holds the world within its palm,
Believing every dawn can stay.
When time will brush the cheeks with gray,
The youth still lives inside the soul —
To keep the wonder, keep the courage,
Is how we make our youth whole.
